Abstract

This paper discusses and implements the Virtual Private Network (VPN) technology to protect businesses and corporates from security threats such as DDoS, MMT, zero-day exploits, SQL injections, DNS Tunnelling, clickjacking, and XSS attacks. To protect against such attacks, that impair server performance and generate losses for businesses, VPNs need to be enhanced with the highest configuration level to protect against the attack. The study aims to investigate existing methodologies for various denial-of-service attacks, and attack defense by using specific measures such as detection methods/techniques, attack strategy, and feature exploration of existing VPN technologies. The study proposes developing an advanced VPN technology with high encryption standards embedded in AES 512 encryption, authentication from the HMAC SHA-2 family, RSA handshake with the 4096 key, Perfect Forward Secrecy (PFS), DNS, and WebRTC leak protection for saving data against vulnerable attacks. The technology used in encryption ensures that all data sent and transmitted from the computer over the internet is transformed into a special form of data packets and sent to the VPN server, which can decrypt using numeric keys and advanced algorithms with high standards. ITA and OCERT recommend this VPN application to protect customers' valuable data regarding confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
